The team at Cyclespeed noticed a few highly placed pro's at the tour riding with oversize jockey wheels in their rear deraileurs, we said to ourselves "I dont know why he's got that but I want one".  So began our search.
   
The theory behind the oversize pulley wheel on the rear deraileur is to reduce friction in the drivetrain.  Reports of a 6 watt saving have been mentioned.  We have no data to back this claim (yet) but we saw it on the winning bike at Kona and knew we had to have one.  So we got a custom order completed by Fibre Lyte in the UK and they are now in stock.
  
You get a pair of carbon three spoke jockey wheels.  One wheel is the standard 11 tooth cog, the other is a whopping 15 tooth oversize cog.  We are really excited by this new product.  And you will not find this on anyone else's machine, yet...
      
Please note - the oversize jockey wheel will not fit in a standard Shimano or Campag short cage rear deraileur.  We are currently running ours on a Dura Ace Road Rear deraileur designed for a triple front chainring 7800GS (it has a longer hanger to accomodate the jockey wheel).  We make a slight modification to the lower chain guard at the bottom of the dreaileur hanger and presto, one oversize rear jockey wheel.  So you can either order the oversize jockey wheel for immediate delivery or contact us and we can order and fit your oversize set up to a 7800GS for you at cost.
