X-File Dated 26 July 2011: Argon18 E-118 and 116 confirmed.

Test ridden at a recent USA dealer camp, Argon18 has confirmed the release of the E-118 and E-116 replacements for the outgoing E114/112 varients.  The new 118/116 will share the same shape, while the the 118 gets the integrated front end and a lighter, higher mod carbon layup.  The 116 will come with a standard fork and a few extra grams.  Expected delivery is around December but numbers will be limited.  Exactly why its fitted with a 2010 1080 front wheel remains a mystery, so last year...  Expect even more stiffness from the larger box chainstay (like the 114 wasnt stiff enough?), better aero numbers out of the tunnel and (finally) some better brakes.  78 degree seat tube angles, smokin hot looks and lots of evil black carbon are carried over from the previous bike.  It's UCI legal (for now) but expect some scrutiny around the head tube (who really cares about the UCI?).  Whoever designed the brake levers went a tad overboard, and it would be nice if the aerobar extension diameter was reduced to the standard size...  Add to cart if you can find one.

X-File dated 22 May 2011: Argon18 E-118

Spy shots of the latest Argon18 have emerged at the Tour of Cali.  Its looks to have cleaned up the brake package, more Shiv like in the top tube and a bit of P4/Scott plasma going on in the BB.  It's listed on the UCI approved list , price and availability unknown...
