Thinking about buying a new bike?




Cyclespeed is different to other bike shops.  

We've developed a process for new bike customers that we think results in a better bike for you.  Its not an approach you'll find anywhere else and we recommend you talk to our existing customers if you want to know how well it works.

We like to start with coffee and a conversation about what you want the bike to do and we take a few measurements so we know what styles of frame will suit you.  Next its time to test ride the bikes.  We'll generally get you to ride about three different bikes to give both you and us a good understanding of what you like and what will fit you best.  We generally dont try and sell you our floor stock, its not there to be sold, its there so you can ride the bikes and form your own view of the different brands and models.  This approach avoids us trying to translate all the marketing hype that accompanies the bike industry.  Once you've told us what you like then we can plan the perfect size, the right selection of components and groupset and which wheels to run. 



We start with a frame and together we spec just the right combination to suit you.  Lastly we cover off the little details like what colour cables and bar tape and we'll tempt you with some upgrades like ceramics and race spec tyres.  This approach does not cost any more than purchasing a standard bike off the floor from any other shop but it does ensure that you dont need to make compromises on your new bike.

If you want to be in the workshop while we build your bike, you are most welcome.  We'll even let you build your own bike (with a bit of help from us!) if you'd like.  A new bike is a whole lot more than just negotiating a price, its your new ride and we get just as excited as you do.



When you buy a new bike from Cyclespeed you dont need to worry about the fit, if the saddle will be comfortable or what length stem you need, thats our job.  You pick the bike, we'll fit it to you.  Our bike fits include swapping out saddles, stems and bars if required to ensure you are comforatble on your bike.  Our saddle test program is included with every new bike we sell.  There are no additional costs for any of this - we want you comfortable on your bike, that keeps both of us happy.  We'll also give the bike a few tweaks while its new and we'll give her a full service about six months down the track when you've put some k's on the road.
